Nepali mountaineer Chhurim entered the Guinness Book of World Records by scaling Mount Everest twice in the same climbing season with only a difference of week.
According to the AP, Chhurim, a 29-year-old Nepalese Sherpa, scaled Mount Everest not once, but twice inside of a week, reaching the 29,035-ft. summit of the tallest mountain in the world first on May 12, 2012, then again seven days later on May 19.
Noone else knows the real reason why she scaled Mount Everest twice except for sources close to Sajha Onion. She wasn't even thinking about the world record. It happened by accident. What happened was mostly due to what happened during her first ascent.
"While she was celebrating her first ever success in reaching the top, Chhurim took out her iphone from her purse to take some pictures including a panaromic picture using the iphone 4s camera. Then, when she came back home and was looking for her purse, she realized that she had left her purse at the Everest Summit. Not only her iPhone with those priceless pic, she also had some special lucky churpi made for her by her maternal grandmother.
She was very alarmed at the prospect of losing her purse so the very next day, she started climbing again to go retrieve her purse. Thankfully the purse was still there at the summit. Her iphone and her churpi was also intact. Then when she came back, she had unintentionally become a heroine by scaling mount everest twice in a week.
In her acceptance speech she thanked her iPhone profusely. She mentioned that if Steve Jobs was still alive she would give him a big kiss on his forehead."
End of transmission.
