For people from Nepal with TPS, the judge in the Haiti case already explained this clearly. The law says the government must give at least 60 days' notice before ending TPS. If they do not, then a 6-month extension starts automatically. For Nepal, the government did not give that notice before or on April 25, 2025, which was 60 days before the planned end date of June 24, 2025. So, by law, a 6-month extension started on April 25, 2025, and TPS should last until December 24, 2025. But on June 6, 2025, the government gave a 60-day notice ending TPS on August 5, 2025. That wrongly cut the 6-month extension short. The judge in the Haiti case said the government cannot do that. The law does not allow it.

The previous administration did not extend Nepal TPS 18 months through December 24, 2026, so the judge cannot order an extension that never existed. But if there is a set end date like December 24, 2026, the judge in the Haiti case said TPS holders must receive the full benefits up to that date. The government cannot cut it short before then. This is based on the law at 8 U.S.C. section 1254a, which says TPS stays in place until the end of the most recent extension unless proper notice is given. The best hope you have now is the 6-month extension, which already started in April. Two months have already passed.
Good luck!!!
