New tech. Have you tried fn+f8? It increases brightness. If that doesnt work either, then you have to adjust your energy saving scheme. Does this happen when you haven't plugged the A/C charger cable? Your pc is just trying to save you some power when you are running it on battery. Look in the taskbar, lower right hand corner of the screen, there should be a battery meter.Right click on that battery meter and select Power Options (alternatively you could go here from Control Panel > Power Options) and then on the left hand panel click on 'Choose when to turn off display'. From here on it should be self explanatory. Hope its not a hardware problem. Goodluck.

hey newtech, try changing the power options. here is wat u can do.. 1. Right click on the desktop and go to screen savers and set it up to none. 2. Go to Change power Settings on the bottom left of the window and change all the options to none that are available on the left side. Like - first power button option...when i press sleep button set to Do nothing.(leave the first option When i press power button option as it was set to before.. do not change it to do nothing) - When i close the lid-- set to Do nothing - Change display settings to Never. - Change when computer sleeps to never. i have a dv6000 too..and i had kinda same problem too.. hope it will fix yr issue.. all the best

If its not a hardware issue, this might work..... Try restoring it couple of months back. Go to All programs>Accesories> System Tools>System Restore This will open system restore window and you can select the dates you want to restore to. You wrote, it has been happening for a month now so select the date when it was working. ( You might not see any dates if the system restore is turned off ) Hope this helps if it doesn't then try uninstalling the display adapter and reinstall it.

Yeah or you can restore to factory settings. While booting hold down the f12 key until you see boot menu, and from there restore to factory settings. WARNING: all your data will be lost if you haven't backed it up already.
