I am planning to go to Nepal for Visa stamping (h1b). I got a few quotes (tickets) and the best one I found was to travel via HK. I heard earlier that you cannot travel to HK without a valid US visa. My student visa has expired. Could anyone please post some info about this?

u mean u can't travel via HK if you don't have US visa.....thats complete nonsense...... what does HK have to do with US visa, check to see if you need transit visa at HK even though u will not enter HK. i know some countries have it. However, if you are going to USA via HK as your transit, then they might stop you at HK airport...

Well, its actually true. Either I cannot travel, or I have to be accompanied by an airline personnel throughout my transit period. garibbakochora has attached a PDF below.
