Haha...I was going through my old, old files and ran into this program that I had written a few years ago... I was amazed it still worked...apparently the database it connects to is still there!! :-D I thought people might want to try running it and test their knowledge about Nepal! It's got over a hundred questions about Nepal... - http://www.cs.niu.edu/~deepak/software/nepalquiz/binaries/QuizNepal.exe Click on it and select 'Run'... It is a very small program and should download in seconds... Take the quiz and post your score in x/y format: like 3/10. (that's my score, btw)

Your answer was: one-horned rhino Correct answer is: musk deer Question 17: Which bird is said to be found only in Nepal? Your answer was: Snow patridge Correct answer is: Spiny Babbler Question 23: According to the recent estimate, how much percentage of the population of Nepal lie in the 15-64 age group? Your answer was: 52% Correct answer is: 56% Please understand that the only goal of this software is to promote awareness among people about Nepal. Ok, i have a question on history of Nepal. The great earthquake of 1990 BS devastated the Kathmandu Valley. The prime minister of Nepal Juddha Shamsher generously offered to clear the debts of all the people who suffered the damages. He withdrew the money from Pasupatinath's treasury and used it to pay the debts. The paper works of the debts were accumulated and kept in one place. Name the Place.

i tried history It seems you are smart. I think you should keep it up, don't you? Just for your information, you received 75% of the total points. But can you believe that so many of us know so little about things? Here is a list of correct answers you didn't know: Question 1: When did King Prithivi Narayan Shah ascend to the throne of Gorkha? Your answer was: 1769 A.D. Correct answer is: 1743 A.D Please understand that the only goal of this software is to promote awareness among people about Nepal. You did well. I know it's hard to score more points. Just for your information, you received 66.67% of the total points. But can you believe that so many of us know so little about things? Here is a list of correct answers you didn't know: Question 5: What is the live expectancy of Nepali men? Your answer was: 71 Years Correct answer is: 60 Years **************************** -- I doubt this answer because, if the nepali women life expectancy is 60 then male cannot be 60, because nepal is the only country where males live longer than female. So, one of the answer of the questions are wrong. ***************************** Question 6: What is Nepal's unemployment rate? Your answer was: 23% Correct answer is: 47% Question 10: What is the Gross Domestic Product growth rate of Nepal? Your answer was: 3.2% Correct answer is: 2.6% Question 13: When was Nepal unified as a single state? Your answer was: 1801 Correct answer is: 1768 ***************************** -- King Prithvi did not take over kathmandu until 1769 BS and Kathmandu valley until 1771. the size of nepal wasn't as big as current size until 1801. so, i doubt this answer as well. it was set at Killa Kangada in the west and river tista in the east before Bahadur Shah and Lalit Tripura were removed as regents to Girvan by Rana Bahadur with the help of Bhimsen Thapa in 1804 (around). ***************************** Question 20: What is Nepal's population growth rate? Your answer was: 3.4% Correct answer is: 2.3% Question 22: How big is Nepal in terms of area it occupies? Your answer was: 141800 Square Km Correct answer is: 140800 Square Km ***************************** - the answer is 141181 km. *****************************

Echoes bro, we can talk about this tomorrow. I have 1000 odd questions that I had made long ago in my aspiration to form nepali trivia. Of course like everything else I get interested in, it faded away. But I guess we can make this work again, and sujanKS can be a critic to keep track of any anomalies. And people can contribute questions if they are really interested in awaring nepalis and nepricans (jus kiddin) alike about Nepal. See ya tomo, echoes bro! ;)
