Apple just unveiled new iMacs, MacBook Pro, iPad 4th generation and iPad mini. iPad mini was the most awaited one but the price seems to be ridiculous starting  at $329. I think its a bit too high for 7.9 inch. iPad 2 cost now $399. Which other tablets you prefer?

 Yes. Just skip iPad mini rather buy Nexus 7.

 I hate the whole concept of tablet. I had one earlier, but I rarely used it so sold it online after couple of months...
Most of the time I use either my laptop / cell phone or Sofa TV (HDTV connnected with computer and wireless keyboard / mouse). 

 For $379, you can purchase Ipad 3 refurshisbed. Keep in mind that refurbished product form Apple has full year warranty.

Those who are saying Nexus 7 as crap are either apple fan boy or just stupid!
Nexus 7 is a great product. If you do a fact check then it is the most powerful tablet in the market right now. It has 1.4GHz quad core processor with 12 core GPU. You get most recent version of android 4.1 Jelly Bean ( recently upgraded to 4.1.2 with home screen rotate) and many more. You can't believe how smooth it is. I have been using it since Day 1 it launched and I am fully satisfied with it.
It is way better than most recent version of IOS or Ipad4.

And price is just $199 with $25 google credit for 8GB and $249 for 16GB with $25 credit.

They are also releasing 32GB for $249 on october 29th.

I saw Apple execuitive bashing so much over the nexus 7 and comparing it with ipad mini. It is like Mitt Romney debating about foreign policy with Obama.  Moral=> You can't simply win over your father

Considering how much Apple executives trash-talked the Nexus 7 during the iPad Mini event, this is probably what'll happen during Google's Android event on Oct. 29.

I have used both product iPad 2 and nexus tablet its really hard to compare however iPad is expensive

For Isheep, whatever apple makes, it will be revolutionary for them. One day apple will come a piece of brick and say its their new iPhone and I bet isheep will call it the best phone in the market

Nexus 7 is as better as iPad. But iPad mini doesn't even come close to n7. Apple is falling far behind and just trying to catch up by making mediocre products.

As long as you can do your job in laptop (or desktop), I don't see any use of tablets. It's waste of money. I waited waited until I save some money for iPad. I was really crazy of iPad.
Finally, 2 weeks ago, I bought one (iPad 2, with 3G 580$, including TAX).
I was happy. Very very happy. I downloaded almost all apps I wanted to. I slept at 4 AM that night.

2nd day. I just checked few emails and watched few vid clips in youtube.

3rd day. just checked email.

4-8 th day, I was so busy at work + Dashain ko party. I never had time to touch the iPad.

9th day= I returned it back to the shop. I got my money back.

For me: I really did not find any space in my daily life for iPad.

NOTE: I already had ordered iPad cover from amazon.And, it has no use now. :(

Android is much better on phone but buggy and laggy on tablet. Most of the apps are blown up phone apps. The only positive aspect of an android tablet is price and that's why I m using one.

Downvote me, but I think Surface from Microsoft is a better bet. You can actually get things done, not just use your tablet for Facebook and browsing. The OS, Windows 8, looks great as well.
If it was a lil less powerful and cheaper, say 199, I'd have considered it; with this price tag I will wait for Surface.

tablets are gonna be called 'slate' in near future. Extremely light and futuristic.
Back to the Present, iPad tabs, basically everything apple are for less geeky ppl.
Accept the fact, research centers and mech probes use their own version of unix or windows or some other machine languages.
Apple computers are there for graphics and some video processing for a while but when it comes to phone,
their now redundant interface is just good for people with no tech know-how or to say, who wants everything easy at the push of click.
That's how it started, they dumbify you :D But if you are thriving geek within, you feel like you are in a jail/prison while using those devices, because you want to do more but they(apple) don't let you do, they didn't just name the whole hiccups as 'jailbreak' just like that.
So, before jumping on the conclusion without actually using other non-apple products and referring names is nothing but plain stupid and if you apple fanboys shows the attitude like that, you'll just add yourself into the numbers of dumbers list.

Whoever mentioned Nexus, it's a great device. Apple devices will always remain under my boot and forever.

Surface is run on RT version of window8 which is not full fledge version of window8. It does have benift of having microsoft office installed but you can't run legacy software on this one. Pro version of window tablet is coming  soon but it will cost lot more than RT version. If you do not care abou apps then you will be fine with surface. Personally, I want window8  to present stiff compettion to both IOS and android tablet. Competetion is always good for us consumers.

Regarding android on phone being not smooth as IOS, I agree with you. But I heard Jellybean is as smooth and buttery as IOS. 

Actually Surface pro will change the game too. Both IOS and Android suffer one major issue. Both of these tablet either needs to root it or jailbreak it whenever you want to tweak it. But in the case of windows, you can tweak everything. Actually there is no meaning of tweaking at all.You can actually write your own app in tablet itself. Its like you can do whatever in your windows 7. Same will be applicable to windows 8. Windows 8 also might close the gap between tablet and PC. Microsoft took very risky and aggressive approach on this thing. If it succeed we will see the new era in computing. I wish it to be succeeded.

@pepsi, You are right for RT version of Surface. Actually they should have removed desktop feature in RT. That is just waste of resource but it is not totally wasteful also. Sometime you might want to see how the processor is doing and how your tablet memory is doing. In those cases you need to have desktop feature. Also, IE in metro version is actually sits idle when you switch to another app just like IOS or Android. If you want to run simultaneous true multitasking then desktop is the only way to go. So these are advantages of Surface RT over IPAD and there might be many more. Of course Retina Display is huge boon for ipad.

Yes you can get better powerful tablet on 800+ price range but you can't get same user experience as surface provides. WIndows 8 OS is optimized for surface hardware and I am quite sure all the Microsoft tester tested windows 8 only for windows 8 OS. So it should be rock solid.

My final point is, Surface is not for those who wants to compare IPAD with surface. Infact, I still believe IPAD is a great product for those non-techie people and it can easily do light weight stuff. But surface is for those who wants productivity out of their tablet.
