Agree with Bidhan there. It was a super match. Both sides played with attacking football, there was very less foul plays, diving, or time wasting. This is the best match I have seen in a long long time. It was a spectacle of the highest quality of football. Both sides could have scored. Mind you, Germany could have played for penalties as they are so good at it, but they attacked, no time wasting. Feel for the Germans. They played well and the German supporters can be proud of their team. But I feel Italians played a little better. They were very good in Midfield and Totti orchestrated a great attack. I wished Ballack could have matched that but for me Lehmann and Philip Lahm were impressive for the Germans. They have been a great host and I just wish to my deepest heart that Portugal provide for such spectacle when they go against France, who played so well against Brazil. Please Portugal don't do this again. Learn from todays game and go out there fight and win. This is coming from a Dutch supporter whom you mercilessly fouled.

one fact. fifa nominated germany vs italy semifinal in 1970 as the match of century.

italy and germany were scored 1-1 in stipulated 90 minutes. but in 30 minutes of extra time we saw 5 goals. italy won 4-3 . franz bekanbaur german hero even after being injured played the match completely because they already used all the substitute.

Well Bidhan, this will not hit the same kind of theme as the last one that you mentioned, but in World Cup where these kind of matches have been so rare, today I saw 22 men playing a great game of football. This is ultimately what boils down to, stand up and fight like a men, play for your team and look at the German supporters at the end of the game. They stood up and admired their team's performance, apart from booing their team. This is football. This is what more than 2 billion people tuned into watch, not the Portuguese style of football.

Italy had two beautiful goals tonight, and it was a very enthralling game as well.

looks like you are still sulking at the holland's loss over portugal. c'mon man, its been a while now. i don't say that the match between portugal and holland was a fair one, and i myself hated figo for being so stupid. but then the dutch were not far behind either and they did actually started teh brawl. the most important thing is the present Portugal at any day is a better team than dutch, accept it.

as for the fair play is concerned, i hope tomorrow's match will go smooth without any foul play. get ready to see some french tears in despair coz Portugal are on a mission!!
