Hey friends
There would be a protest really in the NY city on Sept 16th. Please join us and let?s show our support to our Nepali brothers and sisters who are protesting unelected leader?s undemocratic actions. It is expected that king would be UN giving a hypocritical speech.

Anti Monarqi....
just to show the people of UN how messed up we nepalese are???? Kina kam chaina ki kaso? ki dhoti ley restura bata nikali diyo??? indian embassy tira po protest garna janu parney timi ta... k ko UN agadi protest..... No wonder our country is sliding backwards instead of moving forward.... everyone talks big... most nepalese want to protest all the time for anything and everything they disagree with. How come we nepalese can't sit down and find out solution's for problems instead of protesting. I think it is one uncivilized way of showing your disagreement.
I think it is like the story I read in class 2 or 3 about that dude who used up all his lives(like who wants to be a millioniare) by signaling false alarm about tiger attacking his goats. When the tiger actually showed up to eat his goats, there were no villagers to help him because they thought he was trying to make a fool out of em' and the tiger ate all his goats. I hope you get the idea.

All right, I will be there. I thought it was in August 26th. How will you spot me? Easy. I will be the one who will l be holding a sign saying -

"Shift Focus, fight Maoist, not the king" How does that sound for a slogan? Now don't go on stealing my slogan! Oh yeah, I will also will be wearing my 500 dollars worth of Gucci sunglasses with my guniu cholo. Ok maybe I am half kidding. No matter, I will be there with my two girls.

Oh, just for the sake of our country. I guess it is more for the image actually, spell it right if you are holding a plakard in English. Or just write in Nepali. That would be better. (I know when I post here, I tend to be careless. But frankly, your badly spelled name gets on my nerve)

See you on the 26 th of September, amigo.

Well we have been quiet so long and pretending that everything is right in Nepal. All of thing messed up in Nepal. In my view it is messed up because of monarchy. So it is high time to show support republican democracy and oppose monarchy system.

destination anywhere We would be better off if our views were different from India. Besides we are not going to have Gandhi or Buddha in Nepal, they will be dead or begging on the streets before they get their voices out. We need to stop looking at our neighbouring countries and define ourselves for who we are.

Oh by the way we have lots of similarities with Tibet too not just India why not look that way to if you want to look towards India?

Another thing I want to add is that it is not the democracy or the goverment that is the root of the porblem. Have you ever thought that the views, our culture and the society; our thoughts that needs reforming in Nepal. It is almost like we need a cultural revolution.

P.S. I am not a maoist for saying that.

NK,

Could I have your 2 lillte girls hold placards saying: MY MOM IS SO LOST? :p

Jokes aside, NYC law -- and I have every reason to believe it applies to any other city in the US -- requires that the opposing group(s) get a SEPARATE permit to assemble at any rally. I think we can handle a few of them without creating much fuss about it, but if any of the pro-King individuals are planning to come to our rally with a mass without a permit, think about it, you might end up in NYC mamaghar.

Democracy is very basic and simple thing. You don?t to be ph. D. to understand. Perhaps other system you need to advance education to understand. So why are we blaming culture tradition?. It is just an excuse. I remember panchy used to make same excuse saying ?we have our own kind of democracy. Like hawa matto suwado. All authoritarian govt say they have their kind of democracy. Freedom democracy is universal. Given chance everyone wants to live a free person.

Democracy and freedom are not pewa of any countries or group. If culture and traditions are roadblock of democracy, then India would never be democratic country because India has more traditions culture, languages, and religions.

AnilJshahi,

You know something? How come I and BathroomCoffe and whatchmacallit oh Chor are on the same side????? I am baffled. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Maybe there is some good in every being. Hey in all seriousness, how can I get a permit? Can I just come and stand in ther other side of aisle and hold my placard?

Also, Anil, be careful. Don't pigeonhole me by saying "pro-king." If I apply the same logice, then you are a pro-maoist. And you know I abhor maoists and maoists samartak from my guts.

I am not concerned with India's democracy and what not. Our way of thinking espically in the city is not what will make democracy work. Democracy is a complex matter, it's not just gettin g up in the morning to go vote few times a year. Our laws must take in mind the differences we have in the country, establish infrastructures for the development.

Oh by the way anti do you ever go to places late you know when the program starts at 8 but end up getting there at 9 and say it is Nepali time?

NK,

About the permit, you do the homework -- you can't expect me to abet my opponoents now, do you? ;)

Some of the people who rally against the King MAY be pro-Maoists. But many others who call for demcoracy in Nepal aren't necessarily so. I, for one, have been explicit on my thoughts about putting an end to Maoist violence too. I may hold differing views from KG and his supporters on HOW to do so, but I would be surprised if anyone questions my motives against the Maoists. If you call me pro-Maoist, therefore, you'd be gravely mistaken.

On the other hand, you have exhibited explicit support for the King. For the time being, you may say, but a support is there, regardless of how long it is meant for. Therefore, I do not see anything wrong with calling you who you are, a pro-King. No negative implications there, just the fact about who I have perceived you to be vis-a-vis your views. Now, if I may have misread some things that you've written, I stand corrected.
