Hey friends There would be a protest really in the NY city on Sept 16th. Please join us and let?s show our support to our Nepali brothers and sisters who are protesting unelected leader?s undemocratic actions. It is expected that king would be UN giving a hypocritical speech.

Bathroom coffeee you are very rude . You know whatever king is doing, is not acceptable. Just ask your heart and think from your cool mind and do not blam other who are not agree with you, are power hunger ( I mean want kursi). You do not have to win the debate all the time. It is all about expressing the opinion not who can use the dirty word better. I wish you a cool thinking mind. Have a good one!

People please. If it wasnt for Prithivi Narayan Shah, there would be no Nepal. We wouldnt have any identity as Nepali. If we just complain about 250yrs. of no progress, thats probably not exactly true. We have grown socially. At the moment we need to communicate with each other and with King and really just understand the situation today than complain about yrs. before. By the way, King is not the richest person in Nepal, but many other Nepalese are who are so selfishly conserving their wealth. Anti_moraqi, I am not discussing about US Iraq policy, since you mentioned that US is free country, you seemed to have very high opinion about US democracy so I wanted to draw a comparison. That it is very important to use old system to customize the solution for new improvement. That it is not effective to just disown the old system and go for the new one completely. After all I think Hinduism teaches division of the society creating a superior feelings among our own caste, dis uniting people . Until we come out of it and really deal with this and break the barrier, we will not be able to unite. Think about it.

anti jyu, now aaba tapai le aafo kura sunauno bho. aaba mero kura sunnus. kshetriya riti anusar jetho chora harta karta hune hudha. jehto chora lai uttadhikari banako raja ko bayete ko jetho chora lai raja banaune chhalan chha.[ karna lai kunti ko jetho chora bhaye pani kina raja banaeyana. know the fact right biwah agadi janme ko chora] nepal ko itihass [ u can verify whatever i have written below from tamra patra dekhi bhim bdr pandey ko kitab ani je sanga milaye pani huncca] anusaar RAJA RANA BAHADUR SHAH KING from [ BS 1834-1855][ also known as jogi raja] ko jetha chora Girwan bikram Shah] was the first son from byeyeta RAJA GIRWAN BIKRAN SHAH KING FROM [ BS 1855-1873][ whose jestya suputra was Rajendra Bikram Shah] RAJA RAJENDRA BIKRAM SHAH KING from [ BS 1873-1904][ his jestya suputra was Surendra Bikram Shah] RAJA SURENDRA BIKRAM SHAH KING from [ BS 1904-1938] now in your response u jumped from KING RANA BDR SHAH to KING SURENDRA. So, get your facts straight about history of nepal. You cannot jump 2 generation of kings to make a FALSE POINT. YES King mahendra had an illegitimate child from gurungseni. RBS who is a known song writer. once again he was not from the married "i.e. formal" wife.

anti, How feasible is your demand?? How do you think you will get rid of monarchy? Do not you think it will bring maoists into power? Without any feasible plan just whining will not help. The actions taken here may effect people in Nepal in regards to economic sanctions. So, think about the demands. thapap, back to take a piss on. Peace

Well change is very uncertain. We dun have crystal boll to see what would happens tomorrow. But looking at past and looking at the systems around world it looks like only under democracy country and develops. It is true there is no perfect democracy but democracy more perfect among other unperfected system. Again we have to go into history: Our King had tendency to take communist hands when they want to destroy democracy. In 2017 king M killed the elected govt with communist help. Only one communist leader at time didn?t support king m was Puspa lal. He died in India even Nepal didn?t let his dead body come into Nepal. So I believe when we get multi party democracy with presidential system Maoist would fade way. Because people would not only get republican state but they would get democracy too.

Highfly, I agree with you that without a proper plan in place the current democratic movement is going to bring the Maoist into power. On a related note here is something I wrote few months back: BOMB BLASTS IN THE CAPITAL May 20, 2015 Kathmandu, Nepal Amsterdam Political Press Nepal Celebrates it's Democracy Day Amidst Chaos The fifth anniversary democracy day celebration was marred by the bombs set off in various parts of the capital today. Bombs were deployed in strategic locations such as the District Court of Patan, Kathmandu Nagar Palika and outside of Singha Durbar. The casualties have not been clarified by the government but according to bystanders and witnesses there could have been about 120 dead and about 250 injured in these incidents. Home minister Hom Raj was not available for comments. The Democracy day celebrations planned for the evening however went on without any incidents. The five hour program was held at the Deepak Bista Memorial Hall. Prime Minister Khagendra Thapa was there to precide over the event. During his speech no mention was made of the atrocities which happened earlier today. In retrospect, five years after the trade blockade from US and India which began in May 2005, the will of the people won the autocratic regime resulting in an all out democracy by the people, for the people and to the people. The nation of Nepal finally breathed the air of democracy on May 20, 2010. As predicted by few liberals, the transition period from Monarchy to a Democratic Government was not smooth. As soon as the King stepped down, the different underground parties raised their heads. The same of names resurfaced on the horizon of the newly found democratic government. In spite of the majority disliking the same old names, because of party politics, the Koiralas came back into the political mainstream. Right after the king stepped down, there was so much chaos in the streets and the capital that a curfew had to be slapped for two consecutive months. Despite general popularity within the people of the valley, the army still had loyalty to the royals. The royals leaving the scene to an unspecified location created misplaced loyalties within the army camps and the law makers resulting in an uncertain political and social atmosphere which is believed to have cost over 3,000 lives in the capital alone. Finally when an actual cabinet was formed, they had to start with an emergency rule - restricting press freedom and freedom of movement, which the Prime Minister termed "for the sake of national security and democracy". In fact there was no other way the country could come to a flow of regular life unless these emergency rules were set. As normal flow of life returned, the Maoist problem resurfaced with such intensity that few members of the new government practically had to run for cover to India. In 2013 three ministers of the Nepali government were targeted by the Maoists and a public list was available which cited five more ministers being in the HitList. Those named all decided to take refuge in neighboring India. The Maoist insurgents had created huge bases in the capital itself threatening to overthrow the government. As the social bond grew weaker with Party politics and fight for power, the Maoists have become very strong seeping into the capital. In spite of the democratic movements promises of taking over all parts of Nepal into one democratic country, there was never any attempts even to hold talks with the Maoists. The Maoists were not willing to have talks and the internal politics did not leave room for the decision makers to focus too far from their own bases. After 5 years of democracy today Nepal is a failed state. In a country where the biological and physiological needs of people such as food, drink, shelter, water, etc. has not been met for a huge percentage of people, the ideals of Democracy rarely seeps into fulfilling these needs. The incidents of today throws uncertain doubts in the mind of democracy lovers about the feasibility and practicality of democracy in Nepal. It seems like it's only a matter of time till the Maoist insurgency claim the capital and throws Nepal into another 200 years of communist regime. Signing off Saroj Nepal.

Yo Anti, So Ok you want to move to the 21st century.... Ok you got rid of the Monarchy... Then what ? Its ok to wish for the stars ...but is it practical in the real world ? Don't tell me you are going to bring back the same fuggers who fugged up the country in the past 15 yrs... Or the Commies( a dead idealogy according to modern world..would be like trying to bring back Sanskrit[dead language] ). Gyaney only took over what a yr or a yr and half ago ???? Give him some time..... If he does not fix the problem then ....by all means get rid of him. All I am saying is give this mofo a chance if he fugs up ..the people will rise up and get rid of him(like before). Also he did say that he would bring democracy back once the country is stabilized....

thapap, Anti is probably right, I heard this from my mother when I went to Nepal. Why do you think Rane was murdered by his own Mama(uncle)? Also, there was a power struggle all the time. When Singa Pratap Shah died, his brother Bahadur Shah took over in the name of Rane(Rane was a minor). Later Rane put Bahadur in jail for one reason or other. Rane also fell in love with an Indian woman from Banaras while she was a Bhikchhu in PasupatiNath. Hence came a new thread in the Shah dynasty.
