I have no idea who Puja Chand is. BTW...isn't Karishma married to a bloody filthy nepali dude from UK? Well, I am just asking from what I heard. If thats the case, what the heck is she doing in a subway? She should be busy spending his money..that's what I would do :D

btw, they may be earning more working here than acting in nepalese movies...plus there are lots of other opportunities here for the future.

Being a part-time Baltimorean myself I am sad to see this scenario be now discussed on Sajha.Simply reminds me of even the best and the brightest of exported brain-drain/skill-drain Nepalis get victimized with the "politics of gossip" and later play the role themselves.
Firstly, the type of work they do shouldn't have been questioned. We all know the ground zero of odd jobs we have to somewhere start with while living in a foreigner's land.Nepali actresses shouldn't have mumbled about what they do or Nepalis do aboard for living.Remeber the interview with NTV where she had mentioned about working at subway. If I had an oppurtunity I couldn't have waited to reply her even Americans work at coal-mines to feed their family.Subway is a bliss.Be thankful for the sake of lord.
Secondly, all the talents most of artist posses who migrate seem to lost in the crowd aboard eventually losing their artsy potential.Instead as their background offers them a short-cut to get some documents to live legally they cultivate a superior feeling among other who are struggling to maintain their status.
If a Bhutanese monk turned movie director with little movie experiencecan make a market movies around the globe promoting Bhutanese culture why can't these folks get out of the sam-o Nepali ego mentality after spending huge portion of their life working in the movies.??

Stop this Indian.......Nepali Bullshit and get a life! Work is work and you need to enjoy what you do. Any positive work done is Karma have you bhadurs forgotten hindu dharma materialistic brats. I still admire those nepalese actress as they are leading a dignified life and haven't engaged themselves in demonic activities like prostitution and drug traficking. Get a life! Stop critising your own nepalese talent.

PEACE...........

I would love to see these women act....First, Id want them to act like they were taking my order...then Id like to see them act like they were making whatever sandwich I so desired..then Id complain after being handed the sandwich and complain that the way they made it was not up to my standards...then they would try to act like they didnt know what I was talking about...so then I would proceed to throw the sandwich in their face and tell them to go back to nepal...they would have no choice but to act happy and thank me for the half-eaten sandwich that I just flailed at them...cause they know that their indian masters are watching and that they should act like the customer is always right...see, acting skills do come in handy even in real-life situations...Long live Subway!

Jai Nepal

Village Boy, do you or one of your relatives work at a subway or some american fast-food place...because your anger is such that he personally "insalted" you...as for subway being a shameful place to work..well, I dont know about that...everyone has their own ideas, so I aint gonna comment on em but this is my own honest opinion..me personally, Id sure as hell be embarrassed to work at a fast food joint...and when i go back to nepal when my parents ask me what Im doing with my life in America...I'd have to tell them that I am the head of engineering sandwiches for the public..

OK heres my reply to all this person who replied this thread, first of all thanks for replying.

For me, i was born in very rural village in nepal all of you know it,in Jumla,i struggled soo hard in nepal. when i first moved to kathmandu, I had three hundred ruppes in my pocket. I struggled and struggled. I got scholarhsip from an American society, and studied till ISC. in TC. then i decided to come to America, and applied for scholarship in UCLA. I got admission with full scholarhip. then i studied very hard and got my BSC from UCLA in Chemical Engineering. Now i make around $200,000 a year and living a very happy single life. I am almost 40, and unmarried.
I am saying these girls who used to expose their body for few thousand rupees, why cant they study and get a good job???

The question is whether it is shameful or not, but whether they are SATISFIED or not. I am sure even if they had worked in Kollywood taking minor roles, they would have done much better. Just look at Rajesh Hamal, he's approaching 50? and he still gets the main role.....forgot amitabh for a while.

OK ok. now they are here in Baltimore area that boasts the largest Nepali population in US, maybe they should do some reality nepali show like "paris and niki"...See that would satisfy both the barking dogs here who want to see them do menial work and those making 200,000 a year in california who want to see them act :) I hear there's a nepali public channel in the area ;) There! I solved all the problems of guilty consciences.
