It is digital age. We do not need balck and whiite film role characters in Nepal. We need 0 or 1 not in between and that is enough. Let get rid of this Shah Regime and flush them into the Toilet. .

One thing for sure: even if Mansion or Cleopatra never stated those reasonings somebody else would have. Therefore let's not take into account who mentioned those points but what they mentioned. Cleopatra you said; "either kill or get killed..this is the norm of ruling...." I did not see it coming that one day, you will justify the People's War. I guess you meant that the notion of the survival of the fittest always applies and I agree with that. Live_wire I think you covered it all. Not only you make statements but you also come up with convincing yes let me repeat convincing reasonings to properlyback up your ideas. If any of you think that the kingship and the sub-systems are not properly compensated for what their propaganda machines have been successfully been able to make you all believe that they are the Gods, then please review what the investigation committee for Gyane's assets have come up with. Even if the shah dynasty are Bishnu avatars while the kings from the previous dynasty were not in reality, I believe the real Bishnu avatar is compelled to appear again once in a span of thousand of years as the good earth cannot bear the burden of sinners. But in the Shah rule, we see continuous chain of Bishnu avatars waiting to please the likes of few connected ones. And to make the things even more amusing, they shove down our throats the conspirarcy theory that one would-be-Bishnu massacred his Bishnu avatar Sr's family. What kind of non-sense is that? Wake up people and stop being wimps. Remember Lincoln said "you can fool some people sometimes but you cannot fool all the people all the time". Let the people of Nepa experience what they have been deprived of. If anyone wants to support whichever side please come up with more persuasive analysis, I pledge you my ears or eyes. Thanks. Huuu Haaa!

well, would not dismiss history as "extra information," specially if we can identify our good points and weaknesses.. we need a forward thinking attitude though! chasing away rabindranath is really sad.. this kind of behavior is alarming.. here we are throwing out the king whom we call tyrant and a supressor of ideas and freedom.. and there we see people chase this man literally because he brings an opposing view point.. he can always be chased away by not voting for him and boycotting him.. tara this violence and uprising has made many of us to believe that physical force, janga-jhagada, violence amongst others are the only means.. where are the real leaders?

Not to beat the dead horse, but its very fascinating to me that one [sic] family was responsible for the present economic, social and above all mental dereliction in the country. It is also equally fascinating that we are willing to quote so wisely [sic] foreign leaders in efforts to rectify the shortcomings of our own. Lets also give kudos to the mentality of total abolition of a system that has is an emblem of ourselves, just cause there have been a couple of foul players in the system.

I think his majesty should be in people's control and will. He should be regarded as a symbol of Nepal, just to ensure that institution is there. BUT.... that does not mean that Prince behave like a mad bull or any other small , small Shahs or Ranas try to establish their virtual dynasty in different socities of Nepal. This has to be ended.......In other words no more chakiribaaj or afno manche. If this is solved lots of obstacle for caste discrimination problem in Nepal will be solved. If they don't behave like that(under control) they should be erased from Nepalese society. Jai Nepal

vincent, are u being sarcastic about the abolishion of the "current system?" yes ultimately, the leaders have to bear responsibilities. they should be accountable. no more free rides. ofcourse, in our context, a chain of events led to the "royal" demise. i guess you could call the overhaul of the system a "radical" change. tara king gyanendra can still make use of his resouces and prove his leadership credentials and prove most of us wrong. he can run for election. Now that would be really unprecidented, wouldn't it? anyways these are endless talks..kura ra nadi jata lage tyatai bagcha!

no i am not responsible for the current problems.. i agree it is not only the king ... but he has to bear much of the responsibility.. he was in a postition where he could have brought change.. solved the issues.. but his approach again was questionable.. he went back to the panchayeti "intellectuals" for advise.. did not respect the will of the people.. was failing to cube the insurgency and restore peace.. divided the country by rejecting the parties...hence all the protest. anyways, here, we are not talking about an individual like king gyanendra and myself.. we are talking about a "dynasty" of rulers who have not performed across a time-line while we waste our tax dollars and pour our respects to them like no other people around the world. where are the results though? so mr. vincent, it might be the right time for the rulers to pack their bag and leave.. personally, i don't mind a ceremonial monarch where only the king is stripped of all his power and only the king& queen together with their children get the royal treatment... but our society is such it will not happen.. there is king ko bhanja.. there is king to mother(s), there is king to in-laws.. etc etc etc.. plus most people, at least according to the polls want them out. i respect such stong public opinion.

So, you are willing to believe in the notion that one family is responsible for the current state of the country: not just political, also socio-economic, which believe it or not is the root cause of all the problems.

I really don't care about the Shah Dynasty. But I have to mention the fact that I really respect and admire King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. His untimely death was a loss to all of us. God Bless !

yes they are part of the problem. they could have changed.. they had all the power and authority to make the changes(socio-economic, political) but they did not... see people living in palaces are so far off the ground, they lose their sight on what is going on. instead of working for people, they look to consolidate power and self interest. they had their chances bordega..238 years of leadership opportunities and a handful of bright kings.. nepal has given them enough chances.. but now the sh!t has hit the fan is all over the ceiling.. still they can run for office in election and serve nepal i guess.. if they want to work for us so much.. no more free pass though. there is a saying in nepali.."pahile raand jaanina.. pachi raand manina... baagh aayo gichauna raand lagi cich-auna" bujyau? that is what is happening to royalist these days.

you still didnt get my question. Where do you fit in this scenario? Are you always going to keep talking in terms of "should" and "must" or you going to say anything about "I will" or "I did?"

Dear Sayami, its not time to rush for a party. Its good that monarchy will get abolished, but how about corrupt politicians and killer maoists? There will be no prosperity and peace in Nepal untill all these three parasites are eliminated.
