Kudos to Nepalithito! You got both of them correct. Yes, the first one was pretty difficult one, but you got it.
And, many thanks for your participation to this thread.
I sure will post more questions..hopefully one in a little bit. Since you are smart enough to answer that hard cryprogram, I am making a guess here that you must have some questions, too; how about some questions from your side? :)

New Problem:
There are two married couples that need to cross a river. A small boat is available that will hold just two people at a time. The males involve are quite jealous. No woman can be left with a man unless her husband is also present. There are no other constraints, though. How can these four people cross the river.
Even challanging, what is the fewestnumber of trips possible?
This problem is not hard enough; I will "update" this question after I get the correct solution to this one.
Happy solving! :)

I will try this
assume everyone can sail the boat.
And A-X and C-Y are the couples.
1. A-X couple goes first to next bank.
2. X returns to C-Y at original bank
3. X and Y go to next bank.
4. Y returns to her husband.
5. C-Y go to final destination.
Total 5 nos.
just a try.

I assume you meant X and Y as wives and A and C as husbands.
Your solution doesn't seem to work in the following highlighted step:
1. A-X couple goes first to next bank.
2. X returns to C-Y at original bank
3. X and Y go to next bank.
4. Y returns to her husband.
5. C-Y go to final destination.
X cannot be in the company of C and Y without her husband's presence!
Also, would you please use H1, W1 and H2, W2 for the clarity?

If both males are only jealous but can accompany together then.
1. H1-W1 to next bank.
2. H1 to original bank
3. H1-H2 to next bank
4. H2 to original bank.
5. H2-W2 to final destination.
But if not
I could not. I will see tomorrow

You aren't gonna let this thread die Mr. Slac, are you?
Anyway, its nice. I have one too.
We are given the following:
Two trains are traveling towards each other on the same track.
One train is traveling at 30 miles per hour, the other at 20 mph.
When the trains are 100 miles apart, a fly leaves one and flies
towards the other. When it reaches the other it immediately travels
back to the first. Upon returning, it immediately starts back to
the second, and so on, until the trains crash.
Question: When the trains crash, how far has the fly travelled,
if it flies continuously at 50 mph?
Note that when we say 'immediately' above, we mean that there was
no time whatever lost in turning around -- that there was an
instantaneous change of motion.

Swatantra, nope, I am not letting this thread pass away. Good to see you back here.
I'm not in mood to post a question now, but will do tomorrow. Don't let my saying that take your sleep for being desperate for the question. :P :D
