I am looking to buy a laptop. I do not need anything fancy. I just use it for some basic stuff and for some work. Since sajha has some really computer savvy people, I hope I would get some decent suggestions about laptops.

Criteria:
Cheap, basic... would appreciate if you could explain some features about it. Its kinda urgent. Please help me.

Lady croft u are most welcome to try my fine foods.......infact anyone of u are living in hk or coming to hk is invited......But sad news is i am going to vacation for 2 months on jan 4th....i will be back on march.......I will be busy making my summer menu......for next year...so i am looking forward for some fuison with nepalese, indian and mexican. i certainly will add deep fried yak cheese with cranberry and mustard sauce. I also going to add tapas in menu which will include Bhogate sadeko.........it is going to be tempting...i am putting my heart N soul on this menu...
