I am looking to buy a laptop. I do not need anything fancy. I just use it for some basic stuff and for some work. Since sajha has some really computer savvy people, I hope I would get some decent suggestions about laptops.

Criteria:
Cheap, basic... would appreciate if you could explain some features about it. Its kinda urgent. Please help me.

Well, don't think I am under any obligation to answer each of your questions. But for your "confusion" , here goes. I have 2 dogs.[ Aaah,one of my fave. topics to discuss :) ]

One a Dalmatian, that goes by the name of Bill, more than a year old, is approx. 60 lbs, 29 inches tall , very protective abt me and playful.

The other one is Fifi ; year old, approx. 9 kgs , height 1/3 rd of the dalmatian, very much " a pooh lil' doggie" with the sweetest dispostion possible.She's a cross between a Pekingese and looks-like-mini-bulldog kind. Has ears quite big , hope she does not start flying anytime soon ! Shez in joint custody with me and my other friend, cuz she was a gift.

Further inquiries abt meh other pets (goldfishes , 2 mini turtles, one hamster) shall be answered upon request.

and yes, when u raise up 2 dogs,you kinda learn to make and understand all sorts of "woofs".
