Game 1: NYY
Prediction:
Game 2: BOS (If Pedro plays upto 7th innings)
Game 3: BOS
Game 4: BOS (If Curt Schilling's pitching) else NYY
Game 5: NYY
Game 6: BOS
If Curt Shilling's knee doesnt get better then NYY will win game 4
Game 7: BOS (cause Curt Schilling will definitely play this one)

BOS: 4 NYY: 2
BOS: 4 NYY: 3 (If Curt Schilling does not play game 4)
Mussina pitches again at game 5 so they will win. NYY ain't got no pitching line up. Great defence is always better than great Offence. And Boston has both end pretty lined up. Anyways, let's see all ya predictions too.

Hey, I did say it still is anybody's game even after Yankees 3-0 lead in the series didn't I?
But lets give credit where it is due, Bostonians should be proud of their team.

Even though Red Sox prolly will win it all, but it ain't over till its over. Gotta win the world series before u can actually say the curse is reversed.

its too bad steinbrenner decided against to fire cashman, at least for now, otherwise i really thought Ax bro had a good chance to fill his position, .......we have seen this for the last 4 years in a row, Yanks fall at the very end, either the AlCS or the world series, and each year steinbrenner calls urgent meetings in tampa and waste more money buying new players, what Yankees didn't have that the boston had, team chemistry, when kevin brown injured his hand, a lot of yankees players were not happy and all, they should all know how competitive brown was and he made an honest mistake, he even apologized, look at red sox, the kind of bad run damon and bellhorn were having, even though the fans were calling for their had, the team believed in them and so did francona, and the end results are there for us to see, as far as A-rod goes, there goes his dream to go to a world series, again! did he bring bad luck to new york? onec he left seattle, the team did better next season, as soon as he departs from texas, the team almost makes it to the playoffs........we'll see what happens in off season, some more big signings by the Yankees, and another great season but falling short in the final run......

There were bunch of Questions/claims I had to answer. SOme of them were related to the postseason games and some with the 2004 season as a whole.
To the most pathetic baseball fans ever, who dwells in NY and now proven to be a "CLASS LE$$$ Citizen" and some other enthusiastic fans also, here are some stats. and analysis of some of the players we talk most about.

1. D. Ortiz

D. Ortiz proved the TWINS organization as well as some of the Yankees fans wrong. Someone once said, his base running skills were very primitive and his attempt to steal the base in the ALCS game 4, I believe was pathetic. Everybody now knows that Ortiz had infact stolen the base in that game. It was unfotunate for him and the Red Sox nation at that particular play because the second Base umpire was standing behind Jeter such that his view was blocked by Jeter's leg. In that case the Umpire gave the benefit of doubt to Jeter. IT was a bad call but We didn't blame the Umpire a lot for that. That particular play with 2 outs showed the "WILL to WIN" of D. ORtiz like that of any other REd sox athlete. So that wasn't pathetic, that was an excellent piece of play execution. I am sure more and more little leaguers will get inspired by that play.

D. Ortiz do not have to use his legs. In AL the DH holds a particular burden of batting big. And none does that job better than Big Papi. If his Defensive skills were qestionable, go ask the Cardinals how good a 1st baseman D. Ortiz is? Someone talked about REAL baseball and the NL. ORtiz did his job at 1st base also. As of AL, who is a more scary person than Ortiz, if you were a pitcher? All the Yankees know the answer.

2. Manny offseason deal/A-ROD offseason deal.
Can you Mr. Preacher of A-ROD tell me how many teams did really bid for A-ROD during the off-season? Not many. And yes, the same thing applies to MAnny also. Not because they were bad players or a problem maker, but because they were too expensive for most of the ML teams to afford. As of A-Rod, I didn't hear about Yankees looking for him until the REd Sox were out of the equation. That left only the Yankees, as a team, which can afford to pay him. It is said there was some $12 million that kept Red Sox from acquiring A-ROD. Thank God for whatever reason it was. We didn't need A-Rod. And now it's proven.

As of the A-ROD for Manny Deal, all of us know that it was almost a done deal. The Rangers organization along with REd Sox and A-Rod himself had come to an agreement. However, it was the PLayers Union and that spring meeting (of owners, officials, Commisioner or something) which denied the deal from going through. We all know via Espns and some leading Media how frustrated A-ROd was when the Players Union itself kept him away from joining the REd Sox. NY people can make their own conclusions out of that seemingly bluckbuster deal but truth will remain unchanged. By the way ask A-ROd, which team did he want to play the most for???

Ax bro was telling us that MAnny was just a financial burden to us REd Sox nation and that he was more expensive than A-ROD?? I ask him why and how?? Manny deserved every little penny he earned. Can you say the same about A-ROD?? Quite not. People who have some knowledge of baseball knows that A-ROD is the most expensive player ever?? Manny is second to A-ROD. A-ROD is $25 million a year guy and Mannys is $5 million less costly. At this point whose stock is higher. Everybody knows. If Part of A-ROD's salary is paid for by the Rangers or Mariners than Yankees might be paying him less than what Red -Sox has been paying for Manny. But that's not the point. THe point is when all his pay-checks are put together, A-ROD is far more expensive than Manny.
And going back to the deal itself. Acquiring either A-Rod or Manny would meant almost half of their total budgets for most of the MLB teams. Since, they need at least 20 players in the squad, we can all understand why Manny and A-Rod weren't targeted by many ML teams when they were available.

3. Manny Vs. A-ROd in terms of Production.

Ax, posted some deceiving stats. above. We were talking about baseball 2004 and he got little confused. Or maybe trying to imply some cheap tricks in order to back up/boost his poor arguments. I have my own breakdown of the 2004 season.

Player Games AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB OBP SLG AVG
A Rod 155 601 112 172 24 2 36 106 308 80 131 28 0.375 .512 .286
Manny 152 568 108 175 44 0 43 130 348 82 124 2 0.397 .613 .308

A-Rod leads in Number of Runs scored (by 4), games played (3), At bats (43), 3B (2), and SB (By far).
And he also leads in SOs.

And how about every other categories? SOrry mr. Ax your GOD A-ROd is not even close.
A-Rod was not more productive than Manny.
I don't know if MVP (regular season) had been awared yet or not but we all know Manny is amongst the front runner. Used to be A-ROD.... not anymore. There goes his WS dreams.
By the way, we all saw DURING last nite's game that Barry and Manny were awarded the overall batting titles (Hank Aaron award). so, everything is crystal clear.
Do you have anything to say about thier production this season??
.

continued..

.. continuedd..

4. Free agents.
Once Ax was talking about how many KEY players we might lose, and then he backs up (which is nothing new) with his frustrations about how many KEy Players the Yankees might lose??? I guess the whole pitching staff for sure. As of Free agency and players signing and leaving the teams, we have a guy named as Theo Epstein hired to manage the business. He had now proved that he is the best. And the REd Sox nation is confident that he will make the best moves affordable in order to better the future of the REd SOX nation. IF we have to lose some players, we will still be loving them no matter where they end up playing. All these players had given us what we had been waiting for. We are thankful to all of them. And we will be welcoming the GUYS who will be joining out team next season. We will be supporting them, the way we supported Schilling, Foulke, Bellhorn. Pokey, Roberts, Cabrera, Menkeweitz (Spellingg) and other new acquisitions. We believe in Theo. He will allocate the sources in the best manner possible. HEY NOMAR come back.
5. Questioable calls.
Someone said, A-Rod was showing a true sportsmanship by swiping the baseball out of ARROyo's glove. Oh yeah.., he was doing everything he can do to win a baseball game for the Yankees. Welll, someone should teach him the BAseball RUles I guess. I hope he realizes, how many MILLIONs of fans including the little leaguers did he embarrass by committing such a cheap play. I like the way the Umpires corrected the calls.
And as of Yankees trying to make cheap plays and trying to take advantage of the lack of replay system (refer to ORTiz's base stealing attemp) in MLB, keep doing that and one day MLB will see cameras during the games. I wanted to know how bad does it feel when you thought you scored a run and you are already in the dugout, and then you have to come back, only to know your fellow player had done something that doesn't fall under the fair plays of Baseball. Oh.. can you Mr. Jeter help me here?? Well Jeter and Cheater Combo!!!! what can I say??

6. Luxury Tax.
As for Ax's whining about small money clubs benefitting from the Yankees or REd Sox, I have this to say: "Dude with that salary room of your team, good enough to own more than half of the AL or Nl teams, shouldn't you be paying that muCH luxury tax also. yeah it's a pain in the butt, but guess who has the most expensive players?? Desize the Payrolll and you will see the Luxury tax going down as well." I know our CLUB is not free from that Luxury tax also, but we are not gonna cry about it.
7. CHanging the team.
HEy Ax, and other NY fans, come get on our wagon. It's the closest one and the most reliable one. We are in 21st century. Yankees haven't gained anything yet. You know we already have one.
8. Curse?
What curse were you talking about?? We saw Bambino's soul running around in the BRonx, may his soul reside there for ever.
9. Tell me WHO is your DADDY now??
10. I bought this new RED SOX jersey with the WS champs on it.
I also bought that Yankees S^$K t-shirts. I know theyare both real.
Alrite folks......
If needed. more will be posted in these issues.
GO SOX GO.

Proud Nepali

Great writing ! I totally agree with you.

Where you intend to be (location) for tomorrows parade?

My collegues, of course, Red Sox fans do mock A-Rod's move of slapping the ball from Arroyo's hand like guy does.

A-Rod, when he left Seattle, won the most games.
A-Rod, when he left Texas won 18 games more.
A-Rod, curse for Yankees? Time will tell.

Theo-logy rocks!

How true for Red Sox.

How about forming a Nepalese Red Sox Fan Club? I propose ProudNepali its founding President.

i am a baseball tradionalist and I love numbers :) I am glad we are having baseball talk after the world series.

Reponse to #1 ? David Ortiz

Yeah, Ortiz had a monster year. This year, he is feared as the long ball hitter. If he does the same thing next few years, he would be regarded as great DH. One Year Wonder??? I dunno......But I don't know about him stelaing the base, have you found out if coach signaled him or not. I doubt it. If you really think DH should be stealing a base, name me a player who stole the base this year.

Now don't be trying to ref the game sitting home and watching in tele. I will leave that to umpires. You, I and other baseball fans agree that they have done superb job this year.

Ortiz and 1st base??? Dude, tell me one thing if that dude was great 1st baseman why wasn?t he playing that position??? If he is really great may be you need to find left fielder ;) Manny would love to move to 1st base :p

Minnesota could not recognize Otizs' potential. Is there any team who have not traded/released players and who did great job as Ortiz is doing with Red Sox??? Give me a team name and I will provide with you players name.

I agree Red Sox did a great job getting Ortiz.

Response to #2

I think I am one of the few of the baseball fan in Sajha think AROD is a great player. If you call be AROD preacher, I do not have anything to say. we all know AROD and Red Sox saga. You guys were sooo excited about having him in the lineup but the Players Association stepped in and voided the trade. Yankees got him paying less than what Red Sox was going to pay him. Yankees pays less to AROD than what Red Sox pays to Manny.

I know you are not going to get AROD from Yankees. But if he was with any other team and if he is available for the trade, Red Sox management would jump in the race again.

There is no doubt that Manny has better season than the AROD. but how about last year and before that??? Manny was not given the contract this year, was he??? If AROD to have better season next year, can we say AROD is worth more than Manny. THINK TWICE before what you say. And I BELIEVE both got the new contract same year.

we all knew who was the best in the group of Nomar, DJ2, Tejada and AROD. Yankees meant so much to AROD, the greatest short stop ever (ask Cal Ripken Jr.) agreed to move to third. That tells you something, NO???

Response to #3 - Manny Vs. A-ROd in terms of Production

Read above. Many had better season than AROD. Do also know that AROD hits #2 and Manny hits #3??? Find out what?s the difference betn #2 and #3 hitters, you will find your answer.

if one year tells you everything, why are player offered 5, 7 and 10 years deal??? why not just one year basis??? agree with me???

Ask Brady Anderson, how great of a year he had with Balitmore Orioles during 1996 season ;)

one year doesn't cut it bro

Response to #4

This is real funny. I really want you to do more research before posting anything. I named your 13 players who are going to be free agent (restricted free agents, mutual option, and arbitration) Yankees do not have significant free agents as Red Sox do.

Here?s the lineup. Hope this makes you think twice (katti repeat garney same kura bro lai) before you write something. If you have 13 out of 25 players need new contract extension, what does that say to you?

Pitchers:
Bronson Arroyo
Alan Embree
Keith Foulke
Curtis Leskanic ? free agent
Derek Lowe ? free agent
Pedro Martinez ? free agent
Mike Myers ? free agent
Curt Schilling
Mike Timlin
Tim Wakefield - (retiring???)

Catchers:
Doug Mirabelli ? free agent
Jason Varitek ? free agent

Infielders:
Mark Bellhorn - free agent
Orlando Cabrera ? free agent
Doug Mientkiewicz
Bill Mueller
David Ortiz
Pokey Reese ? free agent
Kevin Youkilis

Outfielders:
Johnny Damon
Gabe Kapler ? free agent
Kevin Millar
Trot Nixon
Manny Ramirez
Dave Roberts -

About the Yankees.

No 1 thru 7 hitters are following:

1. Derek Jeter - SS
2. Alex Rodriguez - 3B
3. Gary Sheffield - RF
4. Jason Giambi - 1B
5. Hideki Matsui - LF
6. Bernie Williams - DH
7. Jorge Posada - C

All signed thru next year :=) I want beltran (to play center field) and may be kent (to play 2nd base) find about the studs if already haven?t heard about them ;) and if we get them any idea what's the lineup will be???

Pitchers Signed:

1. Mussina
2. Kevin Brown
3. Vazquez

I want Yankees to sign 2 quality pitchers one being lefty :=)

Bullpen??? Tom Gordon and Mo have a contract for next year as well ;)

Now do you know why Baseball world is not talking about Yankees Roster. Anyway I gathered the soon to be Yankees free agents list:

DH - Ruben Sierra, 2B - Miguel Cairo, Enrique Wilson, backup catcher John Flaherty, three backup first basemen -- Tony Clark, John Olerud and Travis Lee -- and unremarkable pitchers Esteban Loaiza and Tanyon Sturtze and serviceable and pitcher Orlando Hernandez.

here's what you have to say about the GM "As of Free agency and players signing and leaving the teams, we have a guy named as Theo Epstein hired to manage the business. He had now proved that he is the best"

If winning one championship makes you the best in the league. I want you to name Flordia Marlins, Anahiem Angels, and Arziona Diamondbacks' GMs name :=) Win few more like Brian Cashman did, and baseball will think about it ;)
