Guys and gals, When I worked as a Fund Manager as an additional appointment, I along with my small team, have managed to raise some ?500 for a charity. Now I don't hold the appointment; and have moved to another job. Most of my colleagues have left too; and having discussed with some of my colleagues, we have decided to give this money - well, was raised for Gurkha Welfare Trust but we have found out that they receive far too much from others - to some worthy cause, perferrably to a Nepali project or people who are in dire need of this fund. We would like this money to donate and in return, possibly a recognition of some sort so all members of the staff know where the money has gone. In can be in the form of inscription to say something like 'built with aid provided by ............' or something. Is there any project or person who you think will benefit from this money. To make sure it is received by a genuine person(s) or organisation, we may need to know as to in what and how the money will be spent. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you for your time.

JJ pareli (aankhai ma gajaloo) So you were one of those trailwalker wallas in the South Downs Way, eh. I tell you what - give the dosh to me, because my team is some way behind still, in fulfilling the min requirement of the the thousand quid threshold. So, the 'fiver' will be what the doctors have ordered! And our agonies will be spared for permanent! (PS: I's only joking' hai, mind nagarings) The weather held superbly in this year's Trailwalker run - the ghaam proved to be a little too charko though. Fantastic scenery. Hey, good luck with your plan. Why don't you do some 'googling' on the net, it might help. The obvious runners would be the likes of Pahad Trust if you've seriously thought discarding Gurkha Welfare Trust altogether. The choie is yours. Salaams.

Or give it to 'Room To Read'. That's where we contribute. www.roomtoread.org This way we know that the money we donate is being used properly and for a right cause.

There is a kindergarten school at my parent's village, which was just built a year ago. Those little kids had to walk 3 miles (alongside the highway) to go to their school. Their parents had to worry about their 5-6 year old kids until they get home in the evening safely. So with the help of other villagers, they established this school. Unfortunately, they can only have two teachers to cover about 50 kids. They desperately need another teacher. If you are interested, I can contact the VDC chairman and donate money to the school. I myself have donated some money there. What's better place to donate money than to our own Nepal? After all, those kids are the ones who will be supporting Nepal. Please email me if you are interested. Thank you.

Do not give it to Nepali NGO as well because they do not do any thing worthy. Don't give to Ashtitwa because they are gross and support stupid causes. Just give it to small business institute that are struggling like small village school for scholorship of girl children or women's group for girls medical work, etc. That is the most worthy and goes directly to the end consumer. NGOs will just spend the money on salary and on report writing.

JJ Pareli - aankhai ma gajaloo, No, you don't know me, I can say that much for sure. Becuase I don't belong to the Madalay or Sittang lot - sadly. So, a case of mistaken identity obviously. My apologies, I cannot say more than what I've just said purely for reasons of 'protocols' - my personal rather than Sajha's, mind you! :) But do keep on guessing - you might strike it lucky. You'll never know. A helpful cue for you: the name has nothing to do with the location that I hail from - there's an unwitting ploy att to this scribe's nickname - yes, some thing of a red herring. Psy-ops rather! I might as well be your next door neighbour - you'll never know. Good, innit?? :))))) S/Lahure

JJ Pareli, I seemed to have missed your last posting.. Oh pre/post - not by a long shot. Still jaagir maa ni - alive and kicking. G/Mandalay?? Again dis-correct. Wrong, rather. Aajibaar!! Had a ball last night in the mess, so it's the morning after, mind you, - karaamat of too much Port consumption. My dinner jkt reeks of the ciggy dhunwaa - yuk! I know, I am in for a severe telling off by the good lady of the house - my knee caps are knocking with fear already! Ani, kahan harauni bho bhany JJ Pareli saheb? Nasakine. Ki on leave hau?? Busy strutting your stuff out and about in one of those watering holes in Thamel. Shankai chha gaanthe. Be careful hai - I hear, the leave walaas chala mala is not good these days, you might land yourself into the big jaalo of sundaris. Now this is even more relevant or laagu to you if you happened to be a roving bachelor. heheheh.. have a good time and come back safe and sound. SLahure
