For a muslim what does it matter if country is called hindu state or buddhist state or secular state? All are same for us. Only thing that matters is that there should not be religious discrimination. Till now I have not seen any solid example of religious discrimination in nepal.. you wont believe it but many muslims in my area celebrate 'chath'(worship of sun god in terai). A muslim guy was ill and almost certain to die... a hindu neighbor promised some puja in chath for that guy... later the guy got cured and people in my village started celebrating chath festival too... And many hindu people come to muslim maulavis in villages for bhoot-pret related issues... they also go to mazaars... Though I dont believe in superstitions in above examples... it clearly shows the high religious respect and tolerance in nepal... And this is what matters for me.... much more than having the name 'secular'... hindus are majority in nepal... if they want to call the country 'hindu' which it deserves by historical and cultural reasons... then why should a muslim have problem with it.... infact I dont think secular is more islamic name than hindu.

Don't worry too much brother yusuf i have full symapthy for muslims. You are very right my fren .I have seen even in hindu country .there were so many mosque and they used to put loud speaker and pray. It will be sad ,solving one decrimination problem is going to bring another problem. Now the hindu state is gone .. congratulations to all the supporter!!!don't stop clamping when 2100 people die from religious violence triggered by so call people who benefit from divide and rule policies .Once again .. for all the suppotes: SPA was coward to do so inserted this point under many others so people cannot speak .if they had guts they should have gone for vote.who is going to question spa now that they want to make themself powerful than supreme court. No consitution no law.

Yusuf, I also had a Muslim friend we were very close. He was welcome in my house and so was I in his house. We ate together and played together and participated in each others festivities until he moved away. I know other Muslim families who follow Hindu traditions. I do not think that "secularism" is done for any other reason than to please the maobdais. When have GPKs and the SPAs thought of the people? Never.

Then why do we - the people- allow them to be where they are again and again?

It is the definition democracy and freedom, maobadi style - accept my decisions/beliefs or be ready to be killed and be perished along with the rest of the family.

>> People should have some shame humiliating the King who always wanted to do something for the people. Please dont bring King in here. He deserves to be part of history. I was among the people who cheered feb 1 decision... but he proved himself to be complete asshole by bringing people like peter giri and kamal thapa to run the show... probably he thought that his morning walks and visits to different parts of country will offset the misdeeds being done by his cabinet... he is a loser... the flop municipal election proves that.
