You are obsessed with the idea of being important ...same as all nettas and political activist.... The fact is 98% of the people in Nepal want peace, only those who have favors to lose are not supporting Kings directive. This is the one last chance the country has to become free of civil war. People who oppose the invocation of marshal control are all people who want to be the king and cannot if the King is able to bring a resolution to this 10 year crisis...for instance the arm chair journalist who pretend to know what is happening, they write from their living rooms in Nepal and send out reports with out even having facts to back them up...with out upheaval they have no livelihood...then there are the activist. With out upheaval they are not important...then there are the politicians with out upheaval they cannot even dream to be the king or in control... So the bottom line approach.... Is the King a good man, don't know, is he the only and last hope of Nepal at this time...absolutely... Until he demonstrates at this point in time he is not for a peaceful and safer Nepal.... he is the only hope to control the ills that plague our beloved Nepal.... Like it or not....

If you are so sure of your fartless Maharaja, why not go for Constituent Assembly and put a lead on all Maoist and the Political Parties. Can he? Yes he can! Will he? No he won't? Why, because he is scared of Janata. Otherwise he could have dropped his Shree Pech and come on the field fair and square.

History really repeats: The period between 1951-1959 passed with uncertainty as the King did not comply with his promise of holding elections for the constituent assembly. Finally, only under pressure from the parties, King Mahendra (son of King Tribhuvan) declared elections for the parliament in 1959. The Nepali Congress surprisingly won a majority of the seats in the new parliament. This led the King to fear he would be reduced to a ceremonial role and thus, on December 15, 1960 declared foreign politics were not for him and had the Nepali Congress put under arrest. He would have direct rule. Two years later, he started the panchayat system. The local five-man panchayat would send representatives to the district which would send others to the national panchayat. But this body had few real powers. Under the "Panchayat Democracy" # no political parties were allowed # human rights were denied # corruption was rampant # state money was misused # economic development did not take place # "nationalist" slogans were given, but no improvement in the day-to-day life of the people was realized

Thank you for using the board to excercise your "Democratic Rights", if you don't want to listen to my rambling, then stop posting and reading my posts! Finally thanks for the attention this thread keeps getting because of King's paltu dogs.
