Dear All, Just wanted to share few things here. Congratulations to everyone for being a part of the largest Nepali Community in the web. Before July 2004, there used to be about 3000 unique visitors to the site everyday. After the ANA, there were approx 6000. Since last week, we seem to be having approximately 10 thousand unique visitors everyday. This is indeed a virtual landmark that we have reached and it is because all of us share this belief and desire to interact with our own people, talk about our Nepal, and reminisce and indulge in our similarities, - and differences - brought about by our common backgrounds. I was enjoying the thread called "Are we alone???" few days back. We are not alone, there are 10,000 of us here everyday! It feels good to know that there are so many of us here. It's good to be a part of this virtual community! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the visitors for making sajha their destination in the web. Thanks for referring sajha to your friends and making sajha a more fun place to be with your participations and for sharing a wealth of knowledge and your opinions and thoughts, stories, poems, anecdotes and for helping to bring us all closer in this virtual ground. There is a new poll "IN YOUR OPINION, DO YOU THINK SAJHA.COM IS POLITICALLY BIASED?" that I have created in order to find out the general opinion regarding this. I have tried to keep away from censorship as much as possible, but few times I have to take action when someone seems to be continuously involved in tasteless political propaganda, or continuously involved in derogatory and inconsiderate behaviors. I would like to keep sajha a free forum where you are free to discuss anything as long as you show basic consideration and respect towards others without getting derogatory or using foul language. This poll is a good indicator for me to find out if I have been successful in welcoming all political thoughts in sajha or not. Please take a few moments to Vote! This year, quite a few other Nepali communities in different parts of the world have decided to share their events and pictures in sajha. Welcome to all of you. It's refreshing to see new pictures from other Nepali communities. Please keep those links coming for all of us to see! The SajhaDance Night on Sept 9, 2005 was a lot of fun because everyone seemed to come together to have fun! By popular demand we are planning to have another one in Boston soon. If you are out of town, make plans to have Thanksgiving in Boston! Hope you all had a great Dashain. Warm wishes for Tihar. Best wishes, San

>>coolnepali Any party, no matter however big names they have behind them, cannot have an accurate estimate of the number of accesses a web server has received unless they 1) have a complete access to the web server ( rights to view the log files of the web server at the least ) or 2) peek all the internet traffic to and from the webserver ( something only the ISP that provides internet access to the web server can do and is illegal ) or 3) receive an access for every access the web server to be accounted receives ( this is how sites like extremetracking.com or webstats4u.com etc work ) and they cannot do that unless the administrator of the web site ( to be accounted ) configures it himself. or 4) own the Internet ( that's imf88kingpossible) Your dogmatism is a result of your ignorance ( of the Internet architecture and of the way the Internet is engineered ) . Don't argue about things you have no idea about especially with a man, who has been administrating one of the largest nepali sites today for years. How wud u feel if a boy of four comes to you and argues that 4+4 = 9 'coz his teacher, who he thinks is grf**king8 told him so?

Damn, I've been visiting sajha since 2002. It's been three years since I've been visitng this site (after I came here to the west) and it has grown from being just another nepali site, to "the Nepali site", the one that stands out amongst alllllll the others!!!!!!!! What's more, three years ago, there weren't many interesting posts in this site. This site transcends race, culture, diversity and dozens of other nepali dialects by bringing them all together. Yet it still shows us that despite such diversity, we can still maintain our individual cultures and identity and views. I really think Nepal should always remain 4 warna 36 jaat ko SAJHA garden and what better site than SAJHA.COM to exemplify that. I love Sajha.com. Don't you?????????????

Does it matter how many unique hits this site gets everyday? Does it matter if some Alexa whatever site measures how popular the site is? This is the perfect example of thread raiding. They disrupt the peaceful flow of a particular thread by simply deviating the main topic at hand. Congrats to Sajha.com for getting over 10,000 visitors per day. Congrats to Sajha.com even if it gets 1 visitor per day!!!!! Congrats congrats congrats!!!!! If you dont like it, stop visiting it!!!!!!!!!! If you think the stats are wrong, go find them out yourself, dont rely on some Alexa bullshit. Besides how do we know Alexa's stats are right? Simply because its "Alexa"?.....Well I'm gonna start a ebsote with a sexier name called "Agultale-haneko-kukur.com"...and start posting how many hits each site gets!!! Ani herumla ni!!!! Ki kasto eh San dai????????

Dear San, I thought I dropped a wee note to register my full support for what my fellow posters above have to say about Sajha. 10000 is surely a staggering number to go by, and Sajha has doubtless advanced beyond this threshold seamlessly. More significant is the shortness of time it has taken to get where it is now - one big great leap forward, especially when one considers the site's meteoric rise from its surfer-output of a mere 4000 last year. Quite a feat indeed. Enough is and has been said about why Sajha is what it is. Less attention is perhaps given to who makes this all happen and how. Suffice it to say, I'll put it all down to your relentless energy and dedication with which you have taken on this rather unenviable task of maintaining the site. You have the expertise but most of all, a vision to see things through to a successful conclusion, and Sajha's fame and popularity may well be only a tiny fraction of that vision. So, thank you and very many congratulations. You have all our gratitude and good will. May Sajha continue to flourish forever and may we get to see its surfers reaching for millions in the fullness of time. Yours Aye.

San Please accept my congratulations too. One thing I admire about you and Sajha.com is the way you've shown your benevolance to promote the organizations that are working for the benefit of Nepal and less fortunate Nepalese. Me, being involved with Help Nepal Network, always benefitted from your kind and prompt gesture. Please keep it up. I am proud to be a part of sajha.com since its conception and inception and feel good to be a witness of the growth. सबैको साझा, सधैंको साझा (Lou slogan banai diyen maile ta !)

San Dai I have been reconizing that you are putting a lot of effort to make sajha better. The rapid increment of visitor shows your effor is rewarded. I want to put one suggestion- When we go through the thread and reach at the bottom, everytime its really pain in the butt to go at the top of the thread or go to the home page. If you put TOP and HOMEPAGE button at the end of the last reply of a thread, it would really save mouse scrolling energy and increase efficiency. --------------------------------------------------------------- Small change makes a big difference.

This is cool mannnn...If my math is not wrong, there will be 3,650,000 or nearly 4 million unique visitor in 365 days @ 10,000 new unique visitors per day...That means about 15% of nepali population...Imperassive...by the statistics, every Nepali will have some sort of Sajha taste by 2011...Lau sathi ho hami sajha map danda ma pugne bhaiyo ... Even a cent fee for advertizement can bring yearly revenue of $36,500...congratulation to Sajha.com....

a new revolution to bring nepali together at home and outside of home. Sanay thanks for making this medium possible and hope our people will catch on to this more and more. We have to unite now otherwise there is a chance that we will all be known as, once upon a time.......................no way?
