Kantipur has started publishing news that serves India's interests. Money can do magic and who would know better than the editors of Kantipur?

There is no reason for the King to bow down to international media pressure. Their job is to create unnecessary pressure while the King's job is to act in the interest of Nepal. And international media should focus more attention towards plight of people in Bhutan and the Nepal-origin people who have been chased away with India's silent consent.

Current repression in Nepal is nothing when compared to that in Bhutan. Let the Maoists come to power and they will put Bhutan to shame.

I used to read Kantipur at the begining when i came here, since it was one of the blooming independent publication house and a good source of NEWS. Now the news it publish is not in interest of Nepal or Nepali but somebody else. Its all BS.
It is unable to maintain its loyality to Nation. Its guided by somebody else.

Kantipur has become a laughing stock now, at least in Kathmandu. Did you hear about a picture that was edited by Photoshop to show more people than the actual number in a protest programme? Kantipur published that in its front page. They definately make me laugh sometimes.

i am hardcore supporter of kantipur. The situation of country is making everything different, what kantipur is doing is they are helping from their way to this peoples movement thats all. Nothing more than that. If u don't like kantipur than stop reading and why don't u go to gorkhapatra. read gorkhapatra, if u don't like kantipur. Kantipur is right at the moment. I know kantipur doesn't support king, so u royalists want kantipur as a factor. Fuc*k u

did you "hear" about the picture ......? what's wrong with you guys? do you still believe in hearing things? this is how rumor spreads. kantipur is the best independent newspaper and whoever is saying that kantipur writes for indian interest better have some paperwork to back that. kantipur writes independent news and writes in favor of democracy. not in favor of any faction. the paper is for the people. do you know how many kantipur journalists are beaten, harrased and intimidated by the government? not only kantipur but KTM Post and kantipur FM employees. whoever thinks kantipur is pro-indian or pro king or whatever should talk look at IFJ's report on Nepal ( just search it on the web) and you'll know what i mean.

Rambhu, may be you are right. I also think Kantipur should start acting in a more responsible manner to make nepal better. The first thing they should do is stop listening to and getting payments from Indian leaders.

u siad you did your senior thesis in media in nepal. so u r obviously more knowledgeable, but i always felt himal khabar patrika surpassed all newspapers, magazines and publications in nepal.

you are right lfc123. himal khabar patrika is also very independent and have shown resistance to government censorship. kanak mani is the most vocal, senior journalist and is always writing for nepali people, there's no doubt about it.
