It will be more than enough in most cases, ya u will need some software but they have to be bought separately whatever computer You buy. If you are not game-holic, u r not using some large animation softwares like Maya, 3dmax, and some other large utilities which are not in any case for basic use,  its more than enough.

with windows vista you should consider increasing memory from 1GB to 2GB as vista takes more memory

ya definitely 2 GB RAM, see if 4GB is coming at same price, more the RAM better ur computer performs, how abt keeping bluetooth too, u gonna buy laptop once in a life time so , its not necessary but its nice to have thingy
