I am US citizen born in Nepal. I want to stay in Nepal for few years but i dont want to get NRN card. I have heard that if some one in nepal sponsors me for visa, visa charge gets really low. Can any one tell me the process of getting sponsorship in Nepal so that i can stay in nepal for few years not having to pay alot of money on visa fees. thank you

No worries. you will get relation visa up to 1 year at a time for $60.00. Go to immigration with your dad/mom/wife/sis/bro with their citizenship certificate.

I dont know the process but SKYEE is right.. there is a $5 visa for foreign citizens with nepali relations. NEPBOY- the nrn card is expensive $500 i think.. thats a lot of money for the right to live in kathmandu where we dont have electricity, water, and dust and pollution everywhere... and also its not so useful.. u cannot own certain amount of land and blah blah...

I think the only advantage of NRN card for now is you don't need visa fee (am I right ?) And I guess it won't cost 500$ for visa for 'n' number of years for Nepal.

The theory of NRN is bullshit. Our NRN organization is busy fighting, but real issue has been side lined. The cap on flow of money , property and these crappy visa issue is very discouraging to do any thing in Nepal once you take citizenshit . And haging on with GC is also pain because of its limitation on how long one can be out of US. People should stop treating these NRN personal as celebrity until they put real effort on these issue and stop feeding those leader of Nepal in home when they come to US

Visa cost: $40 for 30 days. $100 for 3 months. Less than $400 for 12 months. For NRN, is $500 for one year? If so, NRN costs more that what you pay for visa.
