hi pals!
bought thinkpad SL400 a
month ago with 6 cell battery.thesedays having vacation and also hot sunny
day, spend most of the time in apartment.a full charge battery works around 3
hours with the charger cable disconnected and charging takes about 1-1.15 hours
to full.
Now,what i need to know is
1. IS IT OK TO CONNECT CHARGER CABLE
ALL THE TIME EVEN IF BATTERY IS 100% CHARGED?
2.OR DISCONNECT THE CABLE AFTER
FULL CHARGE,WORK WITH IT AND RECONNECT AFTER BATTERY COMES LOW AROUND 10-15
MINUTES REMAINING?
any help would be appreciated !!

2. answer. let the battery discharge slowly as you work.
then when it is about to deplete, then recharge.
this way battery life is maintained.

i had bought dell laptop 2 n half years ago, it still give me 2.5 hrs on battery. Battery life is not increased by discharging n charging. When u r using AC power, if battery is 100% charge, the battery will not get charged further n so is not overcharged, the AC will then be used as direct power supply to laptop. So better keep AC power plugged in while using laptop.

However, when u put on hibernate or stand-by, then it's better to disconnect AC supply.
