Hi everyone,
Curious question about H1B premium processing?
My employer filed my H1B back in Nov 10 and i have a receipt notice dated Nov.12, 10. I didn't do premium processing at that time because i thought i had plenty of time to wait for approval. My OPT expires today Jan 31, 11. But on Jan 14. 11 due to lack of time in my opt , my employer filed for premium processing. My case is in accepted status , since Jan 19. 11.
My question is How more time it will take before H1B gets approved. In USCIS website, premium processing process is upto 15 days long. Is there anyone who was in my situation now? did premium processing went over 15 days, if so, how long more time did USCIS take to approve finally?
I stop working for my employer from today and waiting for H1B approval under my intl advisor advice. I know i have only 2 more months to wait or apply for master college.
I am a bit scare. Plz provide your experiences........ :(

yes u cannot work after ur opt expiry date, but u can start working after u get h1b approval. since u had premium processing dated jan 19, u shud be receiving h1b approval within some days, so no problem.

If they didn't provide you with the decison in 15 days, then they will refund the money, and ur processing will follow the normal procedure.

Hello tom2hank
How long did it take for you to get Case number or Receipt for H1B. My employer said they filed my H1B about 2 weeks ago and havent got any receipt or case number yet. When I call them they say that they are still waiting for that. Can anyone tell me from their experience how long does it take to get case number or receipt for H1b. Thanks for your help.

oh really, Good to know the fact STUPIDA, but this process is taking too long. California service center average approval duration is 2 months but mine is taking over 2 and half month and 14 days on premium processing already. lets see. i don't need money back , H1 approval will be enough in my case.

@ STUPIDA : They gave me tracking number for FEDEX with reference as "MY NAME" and was delivered to Vermont immigration office about 2 weeks ago. After that dont have any update from employer side. Thanks for your help.
@tom2hank: Well I already have undergraduate degree from US university. So, I believe based on that my employer can file H1B and I'm working with my Masters CPT. And in your case did you get receipt letter to your address or your employer's address? Thanks for your help.

Hurray guys, God is great....
My H1B approved this late afternoon. Thanks for your supports guys....
My experience from this incident.
1. When you file H1B knowing that you have only 3-4 months left in your opt then plz do premium processing at the time of filing not latter when time is running out and gets panic like me.
2. Concil with your intl advisor for proper instructions.
