Having reduced the North Koreans to shreds with an ecstatic 7-0 win by the Portuguese , how will their match against FIFA number-one ranked Brazil play out?

I think the turn-out of the spectators is going to be huge. The other aspect of the match would be that, Brazil was a colony of Portugal back in the day. Now may be is the time to settle who's emerged stronger in the global arena and the medium could be nothing better than the most loved sport in the world.

The kick-off is at 10:00 am EST on June 25th, Friday.

A similarly much-awaited sporting match-up occurred between George Foreman and Muhammed Ali in 1974 in the continent of Africa which was dubbed as "Rumble in the Jungle".

Let's see if the match warrants the hype:

  • Kaka won't be playing thanks to award winning performance by IVC player. This will make the match a little fikka.

  • No matter who wins this match, both teams are almost certain to go. Almost, because if Brazil wins it, Portugal will be tied with Slovakia-provided Slovakia wins. But since Portugal has a clear advantage with goal differential, They will go through. If Portugal wins, Brazil and Portugal both qualify. Hence they aren't really playing for their life right now.

Having said that, both team will also look at who their opponent will be in the next round (from group H). Luckily they won't find this one out since their game is before all Group H games, including the Spain-Chile game.

This means while they cannot take chance and might play 100% of their capacity, expect coaches pulling out the players after the half depending upon the scores; this specially since Dunga might have lamented his decision of leaving Kaka in the field despite clearly beating IVC int he last game.

My prediction Brazil 0-1 Portugal. I still think Brazil is the better team overall.
