Why Bidya Bhandari need to look in the mirror?

Our former honorable Madame President Bidya Devi Bhandari Maharani has finally spoken. And it's not about that damn dictator KP Oli or why the UML went from a great political party to a corrupt entity led by United Mundrey Leaders.

Our Bidya Didi is more concerned about a new political party coming to power. She thinks that the new and inexperienced lawmakers, like Balen and other newbies, are a danger to democracy and will undermine national unity and stability. She is very worried about the direction the country is heading.

Well, Didi needs to understand that when she first won the election after the death of her husband, comrade Madan Bhandari, she was a newbie as well. Please don't give us all the crap about our old party jholeys bragging about how they were already active in politics at 13 while in some government school somewhere. She was a newbie when she was elected, and then she went on to become a minister a few times and eventually our first woman President in the Republic of Nepal

I think she also needs to understand that she was once our President and she gets all the perks even now as the former head of state. She gets Lakhs in pension, house rent, guards, and all other benefits. And when you have become a guardian of the country as the commander-in-chief once, why the hell do you want to go back to active politics and dream of becoming the head of the UML?

Well, she must have dreamt of bagging the PM's seat after ousting Oli but that did not happen and if Balen and his crew do their job right, then she won't be getting any chance to live in Baluwatar at all. Even the dreams of folks like Gagan Thapa or Yogesh Bhattarai or Ram Kumari Jharki heading the country are over. In five years, our old political parties might even get fewer votes than Harka's party got this time around.

Bidya Didi thinks the newbies are a danger to democracy. The new ones were elected by the people and that is democracy not dictatorship. Balen decided not to become our PM when he had the chance after the Gen Z massacre. He did not take advantage of the situation. He decided to wait and fight the election and that too against the very man who did not care at all when the kids were shot in the head and chest during the Gen Z protest.

The RSP winning the Nepal Election League (NEL) is a danger to the old parties like UML and the Congress and the former Maoists and even the RPP and the old Madhesi parties. RPP barely survived this time around because Gyanendra Shahi won his seat from Jumla. If it weren't for Shahi, RPP would not have gotten any PR seats at all. Harka could make his party a strong opposition next time around and we would rather see the RSP and the Mato guys battling it out in the next election and for the next fifty years and see the end of the old fogies next time.

Bidya Didi thinks that the Balen government will bring instability to the country whereas she must have forgotten to read the election results as she was busy watching Ekta Kapoor's TV serials. The nation voted for Balen and RSP this time. If they cannot perform, then it's another story but the old ones are in depression because for the first time in twenty years, they cannot be a part of a mili-juli sarkar and loot the treasury and the civil servants and the people and byaparis and everyone around.

Bidya Didi is worried about governance. Right Said Fred! She was not worried when she was the President with the loot from the three major political parties then. Now, she is worried that there will be less corruption, more transparency, accountability, and at least much better governance than in the past.

I think it's time for our Nepali Congress, UML and the Maoists fogies to take a break. Head to Kashi since all of the communists and socialists seem to be very religious in the past decade, or take your ill-gotten wealth and live in the Bahamas until Balen finds a way to bring you back to face the music.

Yes, some parties fight against the Rana Regime. Some fought against absolute monarchy. Some fought against the constitutional monarchy. But all of them also fought against the very people they were elected to serve and protect. 5 million youth are abroad because you guys screwed it up for everyone else except your near and dear ones. Yes, Pele did win the World Cup then but then came Maradona and then Messi and there will be new ones in the future as well! KP Oli is not Pele of Nepali Politics!
