2005, ANA successfully concludes this morning in Dallas -TX despite few bumps and burses. And, next ANA 2006 gonna be in NY. It was really a big annual ?Mela? for Nepalese living in USA, especially for guys and girls. Thanks a lot Dallas ! for hosting this great event, we will remember you!

And it was a pain in the ass to wait for Deepak bajracharya to appear...so had to leave the "cultural night" without seeing him. duh.

Only good thing about the sat night was Ravi lamichane! Go Ravi .. a great stand up comic in making!!

otherwise it was interesting to see the crowd boo the other two MCs so bad...pukar and rakshya. sorry you g uys you just didnt have that something it seemed!

i could see you were trying hard though.

sorry to have missed the youth forum may be there was something better cooking there. blame my tight schedule! overall not a very good sat night was the crowd's reaction i overheard. however for me Ravi Lamichane's humor was enough attending the convention for 3-4hrs! otherwise waste of my time and flight !!!

Congratulations to the NY Soccer Team! They told me they were going to win this year, and I didn't quite believe them.

ANA 2006 in New York? Wow! I said I will have to attend next year's convention and here they come, in my back yard. Watch your pockets, folks.... just kidding.

You'll all love NY.

Ladybug, I agree...
DB appeared like around 1:30, sang few songs till 2 AM and that's it. (he was supposed to be the highlight of the program). Insted it was like Bigyan's band "Unknown Karma" was the highlight, and did a good job. I heard the Zulu band (Someone was calling Bob Marley wanna-be dude from that band 'Bob Marley Maharjan' haha..) was booed out of the stage. Missed that part. eh.

We had fun in the dance party regardless of what they played. ha... DJ played the same CD the next day -- the "free" dance party after the Cultural program.

Who ever registered were either fool or had too much money. They charged $20 to some folks and $25 to the others, eh... and it was just a waste for someone like us.

We intentionally missed the banquet and saved $30 each, haha... smart onez... I knew they serve uncooked pullao from the past experience, and they didn't cook it any better this year re, ha... rather, $8 buffet at Chautari restaurant was worth it... typical Nepali food, yum...

It was fun though, checkin' out sweet-little-hot-Nepali-babes (wow, zamana has really changed and so did Nepali girls... they look pretty and damn I am getting older ;)), drinkin' beers and enjoy Nepali style in a foreign land. ha... time pass ;)

Smoked too much, Drank too much, ate too much, god I need some time out.

Poor Deepak Bajrcharya!!! I don't think he ever had to wait for not one not two but four hours (yes 4 hours!!!) for opening bands to get off the stage. That was simply insane. I have never been to a concert where the feautred artsit starts the show at 2AM or had four bands lined up for opening for that matter. Lot of people who paid $25 to see DB simply got tired, sleepy and left. There were only about 30-40% of the people left when Deppak started his show.

The band before Deepak's (forgot their name) simply went on and on siging every freakin' song that they ever knew. I am not against giving rookies a chance but didn't really cared for giving them center stage at the expense of other good artists and at an expense of all too tired audience.

While I'm sure organizers worked hard and did as best as they thought they could do to host this event I little puzzled as to why they planned for for a five hour concert that started at well past 10 PM and let rookie bands rule the stage for most part of it leaving almost no time for featured artist.

First night's culture show on the same token (although again bit too long ) was good. Really liked that host/comdian guy.

A TOTAL DISASTER!!!!

Thats what this year's ANA convention was. I have been to most ANA conventions in the last 5 years. This one definitely comes at the bottom. I did enjoy the weenend. But meeting friends and drinking and partying and visiting Dallas. The event was extremely poorly organized. I will have to really think hard to go to another convetion. If I go - it will be for the sheer purpose of meeting friends - without any sort of expectations of the organizers.

The Concert was the apex of mismanagement. The show begun 2/12 hours after the scheduled time. The opening bands were simply HORRIBLE!! The sound system sucked and the MC was like a "vijeko rogi khukura" was neck ought to be twisted and thrown in a dumpster. Bad! Bad!! Bad!!! And you paid $25 for this shit! Thank God DB came at the end and I felt at least I maid up for $5 out of the paid 25.

Ladybug, ha!
No I was not that drunk to bhattyaing deushiri in the beginning of July. hmmm... did I?
But the friday night, me and my friend, grabbin' beer, came down to the lobby around 2 AM and were shooed away by a cop (he asked me if he looked like a security guard when I said I was almost leavin' :D). We didn't want to go back to the room and they wouldn't let us drink in the lobby. So we stayed in an elevator for about 15 mins which would go up and down, eh... drank beer inside it, and asked everyone $5, eh... $10 for the fine ladies. :D Some ladies got sense of the humor and they also made humorous remarks, where as some stared at the ceiling, bhau khojya hola.. ehe... we had fun tho :D

So if you were on that elevator, you'd have known me. haaaa.
