There's nothing wrong about removing King. HOWEVER, WHY HAVE THEY CHANGED NEPAL FROM HINDU STATE TO a secular state? This is the most important point. Nepalese brothers & sisters cannot you see the conspiracy here of Prachanda, Indian & Chinese commies? Cannot you see danger in futrue for Nepal? NOW PROBLEMS FOR NEPAL HAVE STARTED. Even Pashupatinath will not save us, Nepal will never be peaceful again. Who will check GP or future PM & politicians? Now we will have police force fed bones by politicians!!!! GP SAID: 'THERE WILL BE NO DEMONSTRATIONS & ANTI-PROCLAMATION PEOPLE BEWARE'. What is this is it democracy? There can be no demonstrations? is this democracy? NO ONE CAN CRTICISE GOVT & ITS POLICIES? Is this democracy? THE PROTESTS WERE TO REMOVE KING ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!! So why is Nepal no more a Hindu State? This is not what people asked for, THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY. THIS IS A CONSPIRACY AGAINST NEPAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forget about a nice future for Nepal. We will now have more & more musalmans & issaies in Nepal. WhatT A SAD DAY FOR NEPAL!!!!!!!!!

>>> Forget about a nice future for Nepal. We will now have more & more musalmans & issaies in Nepal. It is your bahun PM that has changed it without anyone asking it. It is natural that no one will blame him but the muslims(because they have themshelves degraded their image throughout the world).

I totally support nepal declared as a secular state, we should not forget it is also the birth place of budhha...the thing it is declared secular state doesn't mean that hindu should eat beef..can't you see hindu indian not eating beef? ? people should have freedom of their own religions and it is not the time for people like us to fight for religions.....

One thing though. We shouldn't be looking at India to set our own laws. They are a secular nation, yet they have more ethnic tension, sectarian violence, religious warfare than the Hindu Kingdom of Nepal has ever had. India by no means should be held in high regard. Having said that, I just think that declaring Nepal a secular country doesn't do us any harm. I just think Nepalis just get along well, whatever our ethnicity, religion, caste may be.

Honestly, I am happier about Nepal being a secular state than about the king's power being cut. Btw, I am a Nepali speaking pahadi bahun male whose both parents were hindus. Religious extremism is not good (Ok, I didn't figure that out myself).

SS74k , u probably are right. But it has been our culture and remember all the other religions were always protected now since the majority of public is uneducated and hindu .the loss is not hindu's the loss is for all the protected religions. The day is not far away when there will be fight for religion and u will see hindu's killing muslims and christians .As u gave an example of India. This is going to be can of worms which SPA shoud not have opened.

Amrit joshi ... youd don't have to be jotishi to know that. If you live for another 75 years you will see ... just a prediction of an ordinary citizen that are cynical of all these old leaders and the so called new leaders who hold old views.

Can some one inform me what exactly happened by Nepal becoming secular? I mean are they forcing people to convert to other religions? Was illegal to convert before? Were there not people from any other religions in Nepal before that proclamation? did they not have the same rights? Are the gates to Pashupatinath being closed? Is it illegal to do puja? Do we still not get Desai and Tihar off from school? Can we still celebrate holi? Are they going to force us to eat beef? again what exactly happened besides a change in the name?

I think it is time for us to go to Nepal and organize the silent majority to revolt against the proclamation. How can they do it without even taking consent from the people? If any of us want to go - I am ready to go and support. I want to snatch the seats from all these corrupt bastards like oli, sitaula, mahat, deupa, koirala and so on. I want to create a historical change where all of us who are patriotic and nationalistic will just make these bastards keep watching what we do then..I want to make a strong Nepal where Indians will have nothing to do and where Indians get nothing from just like the King tried to do.

All of these arguments make no sense. You guys are trying to make a new wound in a clean surface. The reason is people of all religion were living in peace in Nepal even when the country was declared hindu for hundreds of years. As of yet, since the majority of citizens are hindu they will get all of their public holidays. Plus, followers of other religion also are given public holidays whenever they need to celebrate. Just think once again. Aren't buddhist not given their public holiday? Aren't muslim not given their public holiday? Aren't christian not given public holiday? Kam payana buhari ke bhaneko yahi nai ho. It's just the term given as secular to make sure that state doesn't impose any religion on any citizen and if that becomes a issue, you guys just want a fight for nothing. No reason at all. What difference has it made in anybody's life yet? Nothing. But, it can save future altercations between different religious groups.
