some guy named "David" fell into/or killed himself I can't remember. So it's called David's fall, I'm not mistaken. Doesn't that sound off...HAHAHAHAH

i always thought... it was david's fall.. but when i was there last year... for the first time.. n read the board.. it was actually devi's fall.. some german couple went to for swimming n the devi (woman) was victim of phewa's overflow.. she got swept with the flood.. a sad story.. god bless her soul.. but the fall is a must watch.. even the seti river in pokhara... as the name says.. seti... white water.. can't believe ur eyes.. it's deep beyond anyone's imagination to call a river.. for a second i thought wow what a great art... anyways time for me to sleep.. will talk bout it later.. yb

Junge is absolutely right. The real name of the fall is पाताले छाँगो. The English one was named supposedly after a Swiss (I think) lady named Devi/Davis (or whatever) was swept away by the fall. I managed to to visit the Gupteshwar cave for the first time this year. The view of the fall from the cave is awesome!!!

Junge, despite my Pokhareli sounding nickname, I am not from Chipledhunga (or Slippery Rock, PA as inquired by one Sajhite) BUT you can see the bottom of Paataale Chhango from the Gupteswor Cave just before it becomes Phusre Khola to join the Seti. Too bad, Khuitte was not successful posting the picture.

Yeah Slippery Rock, PA reminds me of earlier horrible pennyless days. Stayed for a year and a half. Didn't like it a bit. Very conservative place.

Does anyone know if the Pardi Dam was already constructed whenever the Devi or whoever incident occured? Or was it just freak flash flood? (assuming that this incident really occured) Poon Hill, did you go to Susquehenna (sp?) University?
